AICAHK strongly condemns the recent arbitrary detention of intellectuals and critics in mainland China including this week’s arbitrary and unexplained detention of the respected visual artist Ai Weiwei and sent a letter of protest to the Chief Executive of the HKSAR and other officials on 7 April 2011.
